The helpful workers at the front dest.
The hotel was room was dirty under the beds and items had been left there from previous guest.
Good base hotel, we don't mind to stay here once again sometimes in the future.
Small bed for two people, small blanket to cover, it was difficult to share it. Also we heard busy street under our windows.
The friendly atmosphere, cleanliness, and the service was okay. I wouldn't mind staying there next time I go back to San Francisco. The price was worth the night.
very good and not cost a lot
The location of Grant Plaza Hotel is excellent for seeing the city! Right at the beginning of China Town, 10mins to Union Square.
Great location to go to Union Square and the Financial district.
Beds not very comfortable and the staff not friendly.
The parking costs are fairly expensive considering they are supposed to be subsidised. It wouldn't hurt for there to be some reduction on the parking fees. The beds also felt like there was no matress the floor might have been more comfortable.
The location was great: it was right at the entrance of Chinatown, close to Union Square and just a 30-minute walk to Fisherman's Wharf/Pier 39. We also liked that they had luggage lockers, so were able to safely store our luggage for a couple of hours, after we checked out.
There was dirt on the window blinds, the towels had a strong smell of chlorine and the bathroom was rather small.
great location, with friendly, helpful staff who did there best to help and show me the best way to get to certain locations as i am from overseas and totally unfamiliar with local transport. my room and bathroom were kept clean, daily and towels and sheets replaced. location wise, a short walk from city centre, union square, bart, buses/trams and all major shopping. ideal for exploring china town and dining out.
Location and price
Lift broken and told we are on 5th floor with very heavy bags with no assistance.rooms very small and noise each day from other guests staying at the hotel until the early hours of each morning. No air con although the very by friendly staff provided a large fan upon request. Great TV and amazing shower. But tiny rooms. Right in the heart of San Fran so location brilliant.
Clean basic accomodation nice staff and a superb location, would def stay here again.
Location was good!!! Rooms are flippin small but nice.
Parking is $25 and the garage is about 5 blocks from the hotel, kind of a pain in the ass.
It was close to the conference location, centrally located. The staff was friendly. It had free wi-fi. It was generally ok.
The radiator heater in my room clanked and made noises all night long, this was annoying. Also the walls are thin so you can hear the neighboring rooms if they are being slightly loud. I want to mention that it annoyed me that the cleaning staff would always open the windows after they cleaned, the room was cold when I would return! But this is by no means a big deal.
Clean, quiet (inside room), close enough to BART to walk.
The location is great for the price but all the transportation is at least 2 blocks away. If your events/meetings are at the Mark, Ritz, Fairmont, or Nob Hill clubs it is a long steep walk up hill and a $7 taxi for one person.
The rooms are really small and the linens very stiff. But overall pretty clean. No one told me about the ice machine or soda in the lobby so I had to walk down and up the hill to a mini mark for cold drinks and snacks. The nozzel on the shower is the old-fashion style that shoots water so fast it stings. They advertise satellite TV but there are only 6 channels.
